For police officers and staff in England and Wales
Work the shift. Own the rest.
One app for your shifts and the life around them: your rota and what you're owed, sleep, food, training, and the people at home.
Built by police, for police. We never ask which force you're in.
Normal life wasn't designed around your shifts. SHFTRS is.
What's in it
Your rota is the start. Everything else works around it.
SHFTRS knows the shift you're actually on, so sleep, meals and training fit around it, and a late finish or a cancelled rest day moves the plan instead of wrecking it.
-
Rota
Five weeks ahead from your pattern. Changes stay visible, so you can see what was planned and what happened.
-
Overtime, TOIL and pay
Record a late finish in a couple of taps and see your hours, TOIL and pre-tax entitlement for the month.
-
Rights
A few questions about a change, checked against reviewed Police Regulations rules. Anything unclear is marked "to check".
-
Sleep and alarm
Tonight's sleep window, a caffeine cut-off, and your phone's own alarm set for when you need to be up.
-
Food
Meal times around your shift, 22 shift-friendly meals and a shopping list. Tracking calories is optional.
-
Training
Programmes that plan around your rota. Log every set, and keep or swap a session when a shift changes.
-
Water
A daily aim and one tap to log a drink, on the shift and off it.
-
Offload
Park work thoughts before you go home and pick them up next shift. They stay on your phone.
-
Circle
The people at home see your planned shifts, and hear from you when you're running late or home safe.
Rota and pay
A late finish, recorded properly.
Tap Report a change and SHFTRS works out the overtime or TOIL from Police Regulations, moves your home time, and keeps the record. Anything unusual is marked "to check" instead of guessed.
Records keeps your hours, overtime, TOIL, pay, Rights results, leave and training in one place, ready to export. Police staff see hours only.
Wellbeing
Your whole day, planned around the shift.
The Wellbeing tab lays out the shift, your sleep, meals and a training slot on one dial, with a line for now. When the shift moves, the plan moves with it, and nothing changes until you choose Keep or Swap.
You can also bring in sleep and workouts from Apple Health or Health Connect. That stays on your phone.
Advice comes from published science, with the source one tap away. It's guidance, not medical advice.
Food
Eat for the shift you're on.
Meal times follow your rota, with meals that pack, heat up or survive a car with no fridge. When you're tracking, UK food data and a barcode scan do the counting.
Tracking is optional. If you'd rather not count anything, you never see a number.
| Earlies and days | Main meal after the shift |
|---|---|
| Lates | Main meal before the shift |
| Supernoons and nights | Main meal before; a small snack in the small hours only if you're hungry |
| Caffeine | Last cup 9 h before sleep, or 6 h on nights |
Training
Programmes that know your rota.
Pick what you want to achieve and the kit you have. Each programme plans its sessions around your shifts. When a shift changes, SHFTRS suggests a swap and you choose: keep yours or swap.
Three sessions that rotate around your shifts. Your main lifts are measured at the start and again at the end.
Simple running and a short strength session to build your fitness.
Gets your body used to training again, checking how you feel the next day before stepping up.
Two short sessions a week that hold your numbers until life calms down.
Every session is logged: sets, reps and weights. Finish a programme and shift up a gear. Guidance, not medical advice.
Circle
"When are you home?" Answered.
Add the people at home and they see your planned shifts on their own phone. You choose what each person sees. A late finish stays private unless you tap Running late.
If several people share with you, you can see their shifts on your Rota too.
Never shared: rest days, leave, sick days, location, notes, Rights, pay, health and wellbeing.
Use as much of it as you want.

Circle
Share your planned shifts with the people you choose.
Pick them when you set up, and switch them on or off later without losing anything.
We never ask which force you're in.
Not at sign-up, and not later. Setup asks where you serve in three broad groups, and that's all.
- No adverts and no advertising trackers.
- Your date of birth, and anything from Apple Health or Health Connect, stay on your phone. Body details, food, water and training back up only if you say yes.
- Download your data or delete your account from inside the app.
Where you serve
This is the whole question, as it appears in the app.
Built by police, for police.
SHFTRS is independent. It isn't linked to any force, and it isn't sold to forces. It works for you.
We're starting with police in England and Wales. Versions for police in Scotland, and for fire and medical crews, come later.
Be first in when testing opens.
Leave your email and tell us your phone, so we send the right test invite: TestFlight for iPhone, Google Play for Android. Telling us your rota pattern is optional, and helps us test across different shifts.
