Why we use it

We use personal information to provide the features you request, keep accounts secure, answer support enquiries, maintain and improve the service, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations.

Our main lawful bases under UK data protection law are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing SHFTRS, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations. Where information is treated as special category data, we will identify and document an additional lawful condition before using it.

Who receives information

We use carefully selected service providers for functions such as secure account hosting, database infrastructure, email delivery, app distribution and error monitoring. They may process information only to provide those services under our instructions. We do not sell personal information.

If you use Circle, the person you approve can see only the duty information you choose to share. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or where necessary to protect the rights, safety and security of users or the service.

Some suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we will use an approved safeguard and provide further details on request.

How long we keep it

We keep account and app information while your account is active and for only as long afterwards as needed for deletion, security, dispute resolution and legal obligations. Support records and operational logs may be kept for shorter or longer periods depending on their purpose. We are documenting exact retention periods before public release and will publish them here.

Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections and service-level security measures intended to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong password and protect access to your device and email account.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your information, object to certain use, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent.

You can request account deletion at shftrs.app/delete-account. For any other request, email privacy@shftrs.app. We may need to confirm your identity before acting.

If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

SHFTRS is intended for adults and is not designed for children under 16. Please contact us if you believe a child has created an account.
